On Saturday 27th February, much-loved UK music blog Chase The Compass (that’s us) and underground party promoter Refuge (that’s them) are teaming up to host a special, one-off rave-up on Taylor’s Rooftop in the heart of Sydney. We’re joined by Brisbane party-starter and CTC pal Young Franco, plus Sydney homeboys Set Mo as well as everyone’s disco don Luke Million.
We’ll also be streaming live on DJ Mag TV in association with ultra-trendy tour operator Beats Travel — put on your best party shirt and get ready to smile for the cameras! Introducing: Luke Million
We are stoked to have Luke Million as our special guest, bringing his disco-infused goodness to join a stellar line up. Luke tore it up when he joined us in London back in August – his disco-cum-nu-disco sound which will keep you moving all day and night!
Introducing: Set Mo
A duo who need little introduction – with massive hits over the last 12 months, they’ve hit major festivals across the country and rock every stage they set foot on. Receiving continued support from both local and international artists, we’re very excited to have them as one of our headliners.
Introduction: Young Franco
Known for his funky beats and wicked charms, the young gun from Brisbane has cemented himself as one of the most exciting up and coming artists coming out of Australia. His unique style of Futurefunk is making waves around the Australian dance music scene and beyond, earning approving nods from Annie Mac, Rudimental, Bondax, Alison Wonderland and Anna Lunoe.
Comprised of Tom Wholohan and Sam Mullens, Tasmen have slowly crafted their sound in the inner west for the past three years. Together they mix their love of disco and house with the sole purpose of getting everyone moving. They’ll be sure to deliver the vibes.
Introducing: Oscar de Lima
Label man and lover of all things house. With a career spanning across 12 years, has seen him support some of the best in the business, both locally and abroad. Constantly pushing the house groove which he stands by, a blend of the new school sound with an old school feel. You can expect a combination of sexy vocals, melodic keys and big basslines guaranteed to keep you moving.
With a massive 2015 under his belt, releasing on labels such as Nurvous Records, he’s supported some of the best in the business and is gaining massive support worldwide. Drawing inspirations from techno to trance has allowed him to iron out his signature sound with emotional hooks with rolling basslines. Lovely stuff.
Label man, Circa87 has been a founding member of Refuge since day one. With his deep and techy influences, he provides a perfect blend to round out the lineup. With appearances that span across Sydney’s key nightspots, Lost Paradise and ADE, he’s the perfect man to take things deep into the night.
Next up, we bring you the man they call Greywolf. With solid releases under his belt on Refuge Recordings and Bobbin Head Music, he lines up alongside these legends to push melodic and groovy sound. Starting his career early with Destroy Disco with big releases on Fools Gold and Secure Recordings, he transformed his sound into a summer vibe perfect for the rooftop.
Hailing from Wollongong, Peekay has been hitting his strides over the last 6 months. Ironing out his signature sound, inspired by the likes of Sidney Charles, Sante and Cristoph has seen him support some of the best in the business all around Sydney.
