BXENTRIC’s return has not only been welcomed by CTC, but huge DJs like Erol Alkan, Laurent Garnier, Bicep, Lee Foss and many more have also jumped at the chance to smash his 12-inch ‘Patch Valley’ in the club and on the airwaves. In fact, it even made it into tech house master Maceo Plex’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix before it was even released on his own label Nanda Records – impressive, init?

The plaudits are warranted – it’s an arresting and restless piece of sprawling techno made all the more captivating by Arizona-based visual artist Kenaim. With BX’s taking over Earl Grey’s High Fidelity this coming Saturday at Camden’s Lock Tavern, we decided to catch up with the man himself to find what five tracks he’s rinsing right now.

Harald Björk ‘Sabor Latino’ (Studio Barnhus)

“If any track gets my shoulder shuffle groove on then it’s a winner, but this track takes it one step further and it makes me break out my Elvis Presley pout. Harald has created a track with major swagger.”

Dorisburg ‘Tundra’

“Something else I’m a sucker for is lashings of melody with a splash of Tabasco sauce. Dorisburg released this a while ago and it never leaves my bag of tricks. It’s guaranteed to shake a room down to its knees.”

Sau Poler ‘Bercy’

“This Spanish beat wizard known as Sau Poler sets off my magic wand. The chords and beats are second to none and it’s a perfect summer party starter. If Four Tet got a bit of that Mediterranean heat, this is how I’d imagine him to sound.”

Dj DENIS ‘Feelings’

“When I’m feeling a bit deeper after a few cheeky sniffs of the finest single malt, I’ll break out some Dj DENIS. This dude only has two full tracks on his SoundCloud right now with just a few plays, but that’s not to knock how tight his production is.”

Taptoes ‘Dirty Tape Jams’

“I had the pleasure of discovering Taptoes very recently in the darkest depths of Hackney Wick. He kindly put me onto his tracks and I’ve been enjoying them for the last couple of weeks. This is a beast of a track and the title says it all.”
