We recently headed up to Butlins in Bognor Regis with some of the CTC family including Jamie, Frank, Declan and Tessa. No, it wasn’t for a weekend of fun with the kids at the pool, arcade, bowling alley or mini-golf course or any of the other wonderful entertaining attractions this place has to offer…well…actually yes it was — but in a slightly different way to what you might normally expect. Seasoned party promoters Bugged Out! took over the resort for the weekend, welcoming 5,000 festival goers over three days of beautifully organised madness with some of the best techno, house and disco artists around at the moment. Here are some of the highlights in pictures, video and music.

On FRIDAY evening, Jamie & Frank arrive at the Ocean Hotel. Time to quickly check the line-up and plan of the festival site before heading off for welcome drinks at the Relentless Beach House bar. BOW 1 We come in with sounds from Hutch in the DJ booth, spinning a few goodies going down a treat whilst we slurp on some mojitos. BOW 2 Kiwi opening at The Escape with some strong acid-disco tech.

Following the welcome drinks, we swing by MeatTransmission — who are broadcasting live to the world from the site — where our mates from Cubed are giving us a taster of what to expect on their stage the next day. They’ve also invited us to spin — we’re kicking of the stage tomorrow from 3pm. We swing by Dusky to check the vibe, before heading back to the hotel for an early night.

Our CTC editor and essential crew member is on his way to Bognor Regis, jumping off the train with a big smile on his face. Meanwhile Frank is getting early risers (it’s 2.45pm but you know…) grooving on Centre Stage with sexy disco, funk & Afro-groove goodness — we’re on! The rest of the day is also looking pretty tasty for Cubed (much love to Pete & Chris) with great people coming through, think: Jonas Rathsman, Kiwi & Ashworth.

The beautiful & stylish Declan arrives and loses no time to shine, straight to the Photo Booth with Tessa, who has no choice but to follow…

While Declan and Tessa are burning it up in the photobooth, Frank is off for a tongue & cheek interview with Cologne-based duo Andhim. Have a listen to it on his radio show French Toast, broadcast on more than thirty stations around the globe. BOW 6

Dave Minns, head honcho of MeatTransmission is throwing a little invite-only shindig. We pop in as Funster and Hutch get on the decks — good times are well and truly underway.Following a short boogie with the boys, we head over to Andhim, who are currently smashing it on the Reds stage, and we stick around for Catz’n’Dogz. It’s a German takeover!

BOW 7 We finish the night at the Rosso Lounge for Artwork’s Art’s House — he’s spinning some proper party disco. Jackmaster steps in and sticks on an edit along the lines of this one:

SUNDAY We wake up late and head straight to MeatTransmission where Frank is presenting his French Toast show live from the site. Shortly after kick-off, CTC resident DJ Tessa joins for a cheeky b2b session and Bugged Out! resident Lemmy Ashton pops in for a chat.

Jamie & Declan are heading back to London Town whilst Frank & Tessa push it until the end. It’s the first time we see Black Madonna play and after a stunning two hours of perfectly selected techno, we’re totally impressed by her incredible set! Photographer: www.lukedyson.photography Last but not least, Kerri Chandler is tasked with closing the Centre Stage in style. Teasing this dark little number in and never letting it drop. Enough said.
