It wasn’t long after their formation that Dutch disco duo FOUK perked the ears of some of the biggest names in disco house. Swedish underground imprint Local Talk and Detroit Swindle’s own label Heist have both released remixes and originals from the two, while London’s own party authorities House of Disco have snapped them up for a brand new EP.
Sitting comfortably in both disco and house camps, the EP is an exquisitely produced gem, with the title track premiering on Boiler Room while Crazy P member and groove veteran Ron Basejam brings the remix. We needed to know more so we reached out to the guys to get their five tracks that are doing it for them right now. Get a clue below, yeah?
Kaffe Crème ‘Kapo Choc’
“Incredibly catchy track by French producer Kaffe Crème on Moonrise Hill Material – co-founded by him. Ever since we got the promo it has been in our sets and to great reaction of the crowd. Definitely one to watch!”
Doc Daneeka & Seven Davis Jr ‘What’s It Gonna Be’ (Earl Jeffers Mix)
“Proper house smasher with Earl Jeffers on the remix duties. This one can go on and on and on in our opinion. All about the bassline.”
Andy Hart ‘Aquarius’
“Our copy of this record has been worn out from playing it so much. Andy has put the sample from the well-known original to great use. Sleazy disco vibes!”
Ben Sun ‘Tricks On Wax’
“Who says saxophones aren’t sexy anymore? Ha! This one came out quite a while ago on the great Delusions of Grandeur label. Still playing this one to bits.”
Fouk – Gruff (Snacks Remix)
“From our latest EP on The House of Disco. The Snacks boys really turned our original into something remarkable. Love the funky bis and that break! Cheers fellas!”
