One of the UK underground’s most enduring figures, Huxley is a man who needs little introduction. After starting life as a garage producer, the Brit’s sound soon waded its way into house’s deeper realms, no more so than on his incredible 2014 LP, ‘Blurred’.
Loved by fans and critics alike (Huxley picked up the gong for Best Producer at DJ Mag’s Best Of British awards last year), the beatmaker has kept it slightly more low key this year, though he’s recently returned to Aus Music with an excellent new EP titled ‘Weapon’. Next up, he’ll headline Motion Bristol’s Subsoul event this Saturday, alongside Waze & Odyssey, Chris Lorenzo and Icarus, while Bodhi and Apres take over in room two.

CTC caught up with Huxley ahead of his Bristol show, to find out what top five tunes he’s currently hammering on the dancefloor.
Soundview ‘Do You Miss Brooklyn’ [Tuskegee]
“Killer new cut on Seth Troxler and the Martinez Brother’s label, Tuskegee. It’s really subtle but powerful at the same time. Some killer, clipped acid business going on!”
Lo Shea ‘Durga’ [DEXT]
“Liam’s an old mate so it’s great to see him finding his sound and doing so well with it. This is quintessentially where he’s at at the moment.”
ROD ‘Distance’ [Klockworks]
“Such a great record in the mix, this. ROD’s stuff is always really tracky and hypnotic but his cuts always seem to really move too.”
Sebo K ‘It’s Alright’ (Raw Mix) [Robsoul]
“I’m sucker for disco inflected house and this is great. Really good to hear new Sebo K stuff, too — the grooves are so on point.”
Cosmic TRG ‘Sever’ [FIZIC003]
“Can’t say enough good things about this record. Cosmin TRG hasn’t made a bad record but the simplicity of this is fantastic.”
